Hi, I'm Pete Forsyth.

Sometimes I go by Peter Forsyth, but the web generally knows me as "Pete." I live in Portland, Oregon -- I love it here. I have a consulting business, Puddletown Consulting. I help businesses, organizations, and people work with wikis -- publishing on Wikipedia, installing and using wikis within their own organizations, etc. I provide consultation on communications and fundraising matters. I also do maintenance and other consulting for Macintosh, Windows, and Linux systems.

What I'm up to these days

I'm actively developing my own blog, Our New Mind, which covers collaboration (both online and offline), public process, and technology.
Also working on the blog for WikiProject Oregon, a group of Wikipedia contributors who share an interest in Oregon. This is a newer effort; we're trying to show how fun and effective it an be working on a project like this is, and help new contributors find a suitable area to get involved.
Creating The Open Lobby, a concept for transparent, collaborative policy development. (Less formal brainstorming here: Wiki and government.)
Working with my clients at Puddletown Consulting, my tech-politics-communications company. Ongoing clients include the Open Primary campaign and The Giving Tree, a non-profit serving those in transitional housing.
Getting the government to stop claiming copyright on stuff it produces. Oregon Open Content initiative

I do lots of writing and editing on Wikipedia, and have volunteered for a number of Portland organizations: The Giving Tree, Free Geek, Bus Project, Southeast Uplift, Powell Little League.
